Travel deepens my appreciation for the brilliance of God. My favorite travel moments leave me in complete awe of His creation. Since I tend to feel more connected to God the more I travel, I wanted to turn to His Word to see what insights I could glean on the subject. Overwhelmingly, I found that the Lord graciously uses Creation to draw us closer to Him. In addition, a large part of enjoying creation is loving those created in His image. Here are my favorite bible verses about travel and adventure.
Bible Verses for Travel & Adventure
- But ask the animals and they will instruct you; ask the birds of the sky and they will tell you. Or speak to the earth and it will instruct you; let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? The life of every living thing is in his hand, as well as the breath of all mankind. Job 12:7-10
- When I observe your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you set in place, what is a human being that you remember him, a son of man that you look after him? Psalm 8:3-4
- Jesus came near and said to them “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them n the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:18-20
- Now he came near the path down the Mount of Olives, and the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heaven!” Some of the Pharisees from the crowd told him, “Teacher rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if they were to keep silent, the stones would cry out.” Luke 19:37-40
- He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39
- All things were created through him, and apart from him, not one thing was created that has been created. John 1:3
- For his invisible attributes, that is, his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what he has made. Romans 1:20
