Welcome to Cassie’s Compass! You may have come for my unique and carefully curated destination guides but I hope you will leave with a spiritual connection that stays with you long after your journey ends.

I believe that there is more to Christian travel than volunteer trips and church tours. For me, every destination deepens my love for God and my mission is to inspire that same love in others.

Finding God in Every Destination

If you feel that the travel industry is desperately missing God, you are in the right place. What you’ll get from me is the perspective of a Christian travel blogger who recognizes God as the creator of this beautiful world that we get to explore.

I help you honor God in your travels with both secular and faith-based content. Plan your next adventure with one of my curated destination guides. Then prepare yourself spiritually with my Christian travel resources.

I have personally experienced everything that I write about, and it all features exceptional travel writing and photography.

Why a Christian Travel Blog?

I was once asked if it was a risky decision to incorporate faith in my blog. In short, yes. Sharing my faith through a Christian travel blog does close some opportunities and limit potential readers. However, my prayer for this blog, as with anything in life, is that it would glorify God.

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Colossians 3:17

My motivation for incorporating faith in my content is to inspire readers on a spiritual level. Leveraging travel as a way to reach people who are already seeking inspiration has given this platform a deeper purpose.

The testimony of travel is something that I am so excited to grow!

Getting to Know God Through His Creation

I gave my life to Christ in college in 2014 which is also when I started traveling. So far I have been to twelve countries, four continents, and 159 cities. And I have gotten to experience each of those places with an awe of the Creator, not the creation.

The more I get to know this place that God created, the more I get to know the Creator himself.

My favorite travel moments are when I am left in complete awe of God. It could be a breathtaking sunset or a majestic landscape, but it could also be the stranger I meet who was created in His image too.

Ultimately, I’ve found that the more of this world I see, the less I truly know. Travel deepens my appreciation for the brilliance of God.

FAQ

Where are you now?

My photographer husband, Ka’eo, and I live in Fresno. We love road-tripping and exploring every inch of California on weekends!

Where was your first trip abroad?

Although I was born in Germany and lived there for three years, I count Italy as my first international experience. I studied in Rome, Venice, Arezzo, Cinque Terre, and Florence for one month.

Why don’t you mention mission trips in your travels?

Jesus left us with the mission to go out into all the world and spread the gospel (Mark 16:15) and I look for every opportunity to do so. However, I don’t consider my travels “mission trips” as I am the one receiving knowledge and positive influence from my experiences.
