The Ultimate Carmel-By-The-Sea Food Tour
Carmel is one of the dreamiest and most charming weekend getaways in California. But this beach town offers much more than fairytale architecture and succulent-lined streets. Now that you planned your top things to do in Carmel-By-The-Sea, you can focus on complementing your stay with the tastiest places to eat. Here is the ultimate Carmel-By-The-Sea food tour.
Brohpy’s Tavern
Brophy’s Tavern is the perfect place to kick off your stay in Carmel. Conveniently connected to the Hotel Carmel, Brophy’s is home to the best pub food in Carmel Village. These were my personal favorites:
- Monterey Bay Calimari
- Fish & Chips
- Chocolate Sauce Churros

Village Corner
Village Corner is home of Carmel’s quintessential bistro fare. Locally sourced ingredients make every dish fresh and delicious. Don’t miss the Olallieberry flavor, a speciality of the region:
- Crispy Artichoke Hearts and Shrimp
- Cobb Salad
- Gizdich Ranch Olallieberry Pie

La Bicyclette
European country cuisine with a twist, La Bicyclette is a Carmel staple. The menu is updated weekly based on the freshest locally sourced ingredients. However, if you get the chance you MUST sample the chocolate mousse:
- Squash & Speck Pizza
- Chocolate Mousse

Cultura
Cultura comida y bebida specializes in fresh coastal cuisine inspired by the flavors of Oaxaca, Mexico. If you’re feeling adventurous, taste the Chapulines:
- Chapulines (toasted seasoned grasshoppers)
- Cultura Mole
- Mezcal White Chocolate Pana Cotta

Folktale Winery
No Carmel-By-The-Sea food tour would be complete without a wine tasting. Folktale Winery offers an incredible venue with incredible local wine to match. I highly recommend a grounds tour with a flight tasting:
- NV Folktale Rose Brut
- Niman Ranch Meatballs

Is your mouth watering yet? What other places would you include to create the best Carmel-By-The-Sea food tour experience?
I was lucky enough to experience these Carmel
flavors as a part of the Gather + Getaway retreat. I was not compensated for these features and as always, all opinions are completely my own.
