Fresno is the fifth-largest city in California. That’s a lot of people to caffeinate! Although it isn’t as well known as California’s other major cities, the Fresno coffee scene holds its own when it comes to unique and flavorful spots.

Here are 19 of the best coffee shops in Fresno, according to a local (yours truly). And be sure to say hi if you catch me here. These coffee shops made my list for more than the flavors; they all make great places to blog as well!

Best Coffee Shops in North Fresno

1. Kuppa Joy Grand Cafe

Kuppa Joy is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Fresno. With three locations and a drive-thru, they have been voted the best coffee in the Central Valley for several years. Deservedly so! The “Kuppa Grand” is a great spot in North Fresno for meetings or hanging on the patio.

  • 8821 N Cedar Ave
  • My Favorite Drink: Hallelujah

2. Collect Coffee Bar

Situated at Campus Pointe right next to Fresno State, I love Collect Coffee Bar because of its high ceilings and large windows. Collect also has the best parking out of any Fresno coffee shop. Next to a movie theater and the overflow parking of the Save Mart Center, you can almost always find a parking spot.

  • 3142 E Campus Pointe Drive
  • My Favorite Drink: White Macadamia Latte

3. The Frappe House

The Frappe House is another Fresno coffee shop with great windows and a spacious floor plan. Parking here is also easy because it is on the Cross City Church campus. I like the Frappe House if I have the desire to be outdoors but I still have work to do. Sometimes they open up a garage door wall letting all the fresh air in.

  • 2777 E Nees Avenue
  • My Favorite Drink: White Chocolate Mocha

4. The Mug Community Coffee Shop

Formerly The Yellow Mug, The Mug is a quieter space with a good selection of breakfast foods, sandwiches, and bakes. It is tucked away in the Washington Square Shopping Area.

  • 1137 E Champlain Drive
  • Favorite Drink: Punch in the Face

5. Raphio Chocolate Cafe

After taking the chocolate factory tour at Raphio, there is no better place to go in town for a mocha or chocolate-infused coffee. Raphio has a small to-go cafe at the front of their chocolate factory featuring drinking chocolates, mochas, and more.

  • 783 E Barstow Ave, Suite G
  • My Favorite Drink: Tuxedo Mocha

6. Yava Bakery & Cafe

Yava is the place to go for a decadent pastry or unique dessert. They offer an incredible assortment of Mediterranean food and a decadent coffee menu. The interior is cute, airy, and fresh. Avoid the mealtime rush if you want to hang out for just coffee.

  • 7775 N Palm Ave
  • My Favorite Drink: Baklava Latte

12. My Frida Cafe Espresso & Pan Dulce Bar

Located inside Bespoke during the day, Frida has to be one of my favorite drinks in all of Fresno! Alfie has a passion for Fresno and making specialty drinks. His menu has some flavors directly from Frida Kale’s cookbook, and there is a great selection of locally made pan dulce to pair with your drinks.

  • 911 Fulton Street
  • My Favorite Drink: Frida’s PB Mole or Mayan Xoco Latte

13. Component Coffee Lab

Formerly The Revue, when I think of fun Fresno coffee shops, Component is the first place that comes to mind. A retro vibe and large windows with the perfect view of Olive make this a popular hangout spot.

The back room is another great place to study if you get lucky enough to snag a study carrel.

  • My Favorite Drink: Whiskey Caramel Latte

15. Bab Al-Yemen Cafe

The moment you step in Bab Al-Yemen Cafe you feel like you’ve entered a cafe in Yemen. They have a cute seating area and serve the best Turkish coffee in Fresno, including Turkish glasses and a carafe. Plan to try at least one fresh baked treat to accompany your coffee! I recommend the baklava.

  • 3173 W Shaw Ave Suite 102
  • My Favorite Drink: Mufawar

16. Sacred Heart Coffee

In the former space of Fulton Street Coffee, Sacred Heart has an aesthetic space and beautiful giant window seats. Many of the best things to do and see in downtown Fresno are walkable from here as Tuolumne Street is in the heart of downtown Fresno.

  • 2011 Tuolumne Street
  • My Favorite Drink: Iced Matcha with Cold Foam

17. Alchemist Coffee Lab

In the former Hi-Top Coffee space, Alchemist is one of the newest places to get coffee in Fresno. The Tower District is an easy walk. Fresno needed another sit-down coffee space!

  • My Favorite Drink: Vanilla Latte

18. Mi Cafesito

The menu at Mi Cafesito offers everything from Mazapan to Tres Leches to Horchata lattes. Their newest cafe also has a Mexican breakfast menu including tortas.
